:   ice record
I really like some of the concepts you have in the craft. Im imagining going down the runway at 100 mph and then adjusting the rear foils for a little uplift for a screaming controlled hike!!

Anyhow, Ive always wondered about top speeds on ice compared to other surfaces. Speed records are alway set where there is some serious wind power and Im guessing the foward drag of the surface is way in the noise compared to the aerodynamic drag of the vessel. What seems more important (assuming reasonably low forward drag) is how the surface handles the big side loads. My experience has been that some ice conditions can be pretty good but in my opinion, not really much better than pavement and that both ice and pavement are better than the typical dry lake bed surface.

Any other opinions on this?

Good luck in your quest, I think it would be a special treat to see both your craft and the Iron Duck at Ivanpah next year!
