My only suggestion is that the Solent isn't a good place for any sort of speed sailing. Apart from the commercial shipping, ferry traffic and fishing boats, the area is dense with day-trip sailors that get in the way of each other, never mind a record attempt. Added to the 10 knot speed limit within 0.5 miles of the shore of course.
