When you use the monofoil but with the wing to wind ward and you attach the kite to the fusilage you have a stable configuration and you can control your height. I think that's the idea of Jon.

But then the transition from standing still to sliding with the wind will become diificult.

So you need two kites indeed and a gliderplane.

But still I'm not completely sure.
