I guess that's why they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Prior to your further explanation of the 'daggerboard'; I had a completely different concept in mind. I was visualizing the pod / fuselage / operator compartment or whatever else it could be called ... (the craft which replaces the keys), which would be fitted with a centrally-located daggerboard (possibly tipped with small hydrofoils), which would assist in tracking of the craft while water-borne and as it transitions to being air-borne. As a pictoral example consider the "Midfoil" concept. Granted, this is an engine-powered craft, and completely distinct from the concept currently under discussion. Also, the midfoil concept utilizes a huge under-water foil for floatation & lift which would be unnecessary and detrimental for a sailing concept so visualize that OUT of the picture. But I think the side view gives an impression 'similar' to that which I had in mind when you first mentioned daggerboard, although the upper hull would be much less bulky, more streamlined, and more like a gliderplane. http://foxxaero.homestead.com/indrad_024.html Recognize that the concept I visualize above would probably be more suited to a slightly more conventional sail-craft than that which you and Jon are talking about. PS - Jon, have you had any better success in transmitting the sketches to the webmaster? I think we're all quite looking forward to them. Cheers Foxx
