When you use quite high aspect kites I think you can sail under an angle of 30 degrees towards the apparent wind on the lower level. Good boats can do this easily towards the angle of attack of the water.

The wind then needs to be 4 times stronger at the level of the high kite then on the level of the lower to fly with the wind sideways, I believe.

Can anyone confirm this and can anyone say how high the high kite needs to be compared to the low (approx.10 meters high) ?

Regards,

Johan
