Sorry to here about the breakdowns at the last regatta. Hope everyone can get back on the ice soon. This brings about a question. The regatta was held in 20 to 25 mph wind and several boats brokeup . How could the Debutante hold up in 70 mph wind when it set the record? Especially with a cotton battenless sail. If it was blowing 70 you would have a hard time just getting the sail up the mast without it luffing itself to shreds. I've sailed in wind up to 40 mph and that was real dicey , I could'nt imagine going out in 70.
On another note goodluck windjet I hope you can get some running time in. I know Kampo has been trying for years and has'nt reported any mind blowing speeds yet on ice. In fact no one has that I know of since radar and gps have been around. It seems like it could take time and luck to get the conditions to help you.
