Thanks for the information on Thunder Jet. I have managed to piece together most of the boats history, but cannot find out who the builder was. I had heard it was built by a glider manufacturer in Chicago. To the best of my knowledge it was built in the mid 1950's. It is the boat featured on the cover of Life magasine Dec. 1965 issue. This according to Bill Perrigo Jr. who gave me much info on the boat. Also according to Sailing Specialties of Milwaukee (owner) it won the worlds in 1958. It is a Mead E Class Skeeter. Sounds like you have your own fleet. I really love the old boats and am fascinated by the new technology. I hope to get a side by side photo soon of Thunder Jet and . We have a GREAT site here and hopefully you folks could find your way here sometime. The difference in the dollar would make the trip less of a burden. If I were to come there do you think I could get a ride ??...maybe we could try and achieve these high speeds I am hearing about, I'm game. Today there were only three ice fishing shanties on a sheet of ice 20 miles in diameter..I understand the ice fishermen are a bit of an issue there. We have a small fleet of DN's (12)and only the one Skeeter in the city. Keep it right side up and on the hard water

Best wishes

Don Ellard
