After a thorough analysis of the data collected from trials over the past few weeks, we know exactly what needs to be changed in order to give the vehicle full control at top speed. However, by the time these modifications are complete, the wind will be fading at Lake Lefroy for this year. Therefore, it is looking like we will undertake the modifications over the next 6 months in order to be on standby for the 1st August '08. As frustrating as it is to delay another year, it is definitely the pragmatic approach to a successful record challenge.
If we can raise the funds, we will also get the old Windjet land craft (currently in Nevada) over to lefroy as a backup vehicle. Even though the new machine will eventually be faster, the old machine has had over 3 years of tuning (therefore reliable) and is more than capable of getting the record on a good day at Lefroy.
