Suppling the project with their 'Baystar' Hydraulic steering system, Teleflex adds another level of reliability to the Windjet Land craft. The only mechanical faliure that occurred during 5 months of desert testing last year, was the mechanical steering link that broke right at the front wheel.

This was due to a fatigue faliure caused by the vibration at very high speed. The Windjet land craft has pneumatic front suspension to deal with the bumpy desert surface, and although this does give a smooth ride at high speed, it is very intensive on the components involved. Teleflex's rugged hydraulic technology should remove this weak link, increasing our chances of being in perfect shape to smash the record when the time is right!
