Exceptional Rain Persisting.. |

Is it a windjet curse or is it just coincidence that wherever we go the weather becomes abnormal?
Yosemite national park is now closed due to exceptional flooding, while
Smith Creek Nevada, Windjet's current location, has had 6 times it's
expected rainfall already for the month of May!
The scene at Smith Creek This afternoon
This is a picture of the 'dry' lake surface looking west towards the
mountains. As the wind and water comes down the mountain, the wave of
water advanced towards the Windjet camp at an alarming rate, stopping
just 50 feet away by dusk.
The cause of the sudden flooding in Nevada and California is the
combination of exceptional rainfall and warm temperatures that melts the
snow at altitude. The combined effect is excess surface below the snow line.
However, the good news is that the air is actually quite dry and with a
little sunshine, surface moisture can dry very quickly. Too quickly can
also make the surface unusable due to cracking.
All we can do is get the equipment, in perfect order, in historically,
the best best place in the world for land sailing. The rest, it is out
of our hands!
For those of you who did not spot the deliberate mistake in the last
news article, San Francisco is on the WEST coast and not the EAST.
