Windjet Land craft leaves for Nevada...

Today, the Windjet land craft was delivered to Southampton Docks at the start of the long journey to North America. The purpose of the expedition is officially challenge the current, USA held, outright land sailing record of 116 mph.

New Record Rules Announced

A new (updated) set of speed record rules has been announced by the WSSRC.

The full document can be found here

The rules are virtually the same, with the addition of the requirements for GPS measurements.

Only a few weeks after Finian's outright speed sailing record, another record is ratified from the oposing team of Bjorn Dunkerbeck.

However, unlike Finian's record, which was the average over 500m, Dunkerbeck has raised the record for the average over one nautical mile. ....
